White Rice

  • Put rice into rice cooker inner pot or stove-top cooking pot.

  • Fill up with water, swish around, drain (repeat 3 times)

  • Once rice has been rinsed, drain as much water as possible.

  • Rice Cooker: Put 2 cups of water, make sure the rice is evenly spread across the bottom and then place into the cooker, and press the white rice button.  The rice cooker will do the rest.

  • Stove-Top: Put 2.5 cups of water, place on the stove on medium high heat and bring to a rapid simmer.  Once you get it going, reduce heat to low and place a tight fitting lid onto your pot or pan.  Continue cooking until water has mostly absorbed and then turn the stove off while leaving the lid on for at least 15 more minutes

  • In both cases, when the rice is finished cooking, fluff it with a fork so it doesn't solidify shape.

  • Enjoy

Brown Rice:

  • Put rice into rice cooker inner pot or stove-top cooking pot.
  • Fill up with water, swish around, drain (just once is fine)
  • Once rice has been rinsed, drain as much water as possible.
  • Rice Cooker: Put 3 cups of water, make sure the rice is evenly spread across the bottom and then place into the cooker, and press the brown rice button.  The rice cooker will do the rest.
  • Stove-Top: Put 3.75 cups of water, place on the stove on medium high heat and bring to a rapid simmer.  Once you get it going, reduce heat to low and place a tight fitting lid onto your pot or pan.  Continue cooking until water has mostly absorbed and then turn the stove off while leaving the lid on for at least 15 more minutes.
  • Brown rice will take much longer to cook than white rice - be patient.
  • In both cases, when the rice is finished cooking, fluff it with a fork so it doesn't solidify shape.
